Joyan Tan is the recipient of of the competitive Dean’s Summer Graduate Support Award for Summer 2025. This award supports her dissertation research investigating the relationship between text and ritual by comparing textual rituals found in the Hebrew Bible and the Daoist canon. She will spend the summer in Singapore for field research on the Daoist materials.
